South Lake girls pound St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD -- Courtney Waite led the way with 16 points in South Lake's 63-33 win against St. Cloud.
Amanda Merritt totalled 15 points and Tamica Mora added 12 for the Eagles (13-5).
South Lake plays at Class 6A-District 5 rival and the state's top-ranked team, Orlando Dr. Phillips, at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

CLERMONT -- Ashley Lanier recorded a double double to lead Leesburg to a 58-30 win against East Ridge.
Lanier had 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Freshmen Ashley Perry and Joharra Russell added 13 points apiece for the Yellow Jackets. Perry had four rebounds and four steals, and Russell had five steals and three assists.
Jaleesa Blue scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Baylie Bridges scored seven points and had four steals.
For East Ridge, Selina Archer had 10 points
Leesburg (14-5) will host Ocala Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for Senior Night.
MOUNT DORA -- Hayley Todd scored 21 points to lead Mount Dora Bible to a 58-41 win against Montverde Academy.
Lauren Kilts pulled down 14 rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-11).
Ruza Velialyle scored 16 for Montverde Academy.

GROVELAND -- South Lake had three players score in double figures, but Orlando Olympia prevailed 82-52 in a Class 6A-District 5 contest.
Courtney Waite led the Eagles with 16 points, followed by Amanda Merritt with 11 and Tamica Mora with 10.
SOUTH LAKE -- Tamica Mora scored 23 points and Courtney waite managed 14 on Monday, but South Lake finished on the short end of a 58-47 score to Apopka.
MONTVERDE -- Ruta Valalyle poured in 21 points Saturday to lead Montverde Academy to a 54-20 win against Jacksonville Bolles.
Tomi Akinpetide scored 17 points for the Eagles (4-5).
Boys Basketball
Robert Brown scored 26 points, including 10-of-11 free throws to lead East Ridge to a 66-55 win against Melbourne.
Mike May grabbed 11 rebounds for the Knights (13-3).
