Meet Scott Keiber, local financial advisor
Name: Scott F. Keiber

Occupation: Independent Financial Advisor for Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.

Q. What do you enjoy most about South Lake County?
A. I love the people. I don't know anyone that lives in this area that isn't proud to call it home for part of the year or all year round.
Q. If you had to summarize your philosophy of life in one sentence, what would it be?
A. Pay it forward.
Q. Name a person or incident you've come across recently that's touched you in some way. Why did this person or incident impress you so much?
A. My wife and I both attended public school and we are big advocates of the public school system. It amazes me how dedicated teachers are and we all agree that they are underpaid. My son's teacher was never able to have children of her own and yet she goes to work every day to help raise mine. She loves her students and I couldn't ask for more than that.
Q. How does your business or occupation contribute to the welfare of the area?
A. Waiting for the government to swoop in and make things all better could take time. There are countless opportunities that arise when markets correct. Have a plan; talk to your financial professional or attend one of my free investment workshops held monthly to learn how to make better decisions for your future.
Q. Name one of your greatest accomplishments so far?
A. I can think of nothing I am prouder of than being a father. Children are a gift from God and it's my greatest accomplishment to raise my children with my wife in a loving and nurturing home.
Q. What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet?
A. Jump out of a plane. My wife takes issue.
Q. What advice would you give to someone just venturing out into the business world?
A. Find a mentor. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Life and work will not be easy, so emulate behaviors you find admirable in the people around you at work and home. It pays to seek their advice when they will offer it. Be gracious and model positive behavior.
