6 arrested in meth busts

MONTVERDE -- The Lake County Sheriff's Office's arrested six people during two separate methamphetamine lab raids late last Friday.

Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. John Herrell said the department's street crimes unit was working off a tip Friday and discovered a methamphetamine lab at a Heatherwood Lane home in Montverde. Arrested at that address on various meth charges were Nathan E. Cardwell, 26, of Ocoee, Toby L. Perkins, 34, of Clermont, Stephen W. Brown, 21, of Gotha, and Kathy L. Raymer, 50, of Montverde.

Herrell added an investigation into the Heatherwood meth lab resulted in information on a separate meth lab on Third Avenue in Ferndale. Russell L. Peterson, 36, and Serenity L. Ferguson, 31, both of Ferndale were arrested on various meth charges in that meth lab bust.

Herrell said chemicals, tubing, filters, matchbooks and other items commonly associated with clandestine meth labs were located during the investigations at both addresses.
