-- The Superior Residences Annual Charity Rummage and Baked Goods Sale benefiting New Beginnings is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the front parking area of Superior Residence, 1600 Hunt Trace Blvd, Clermont.

-- The Elite Wing Challenge benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties' South Lake Unit is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday in the parking lot of Elite Car Wash and Elite Mobil One, Oakley Seaver Plaza, 1230 Oakley Seaver Blvd, Clermont. Local restaurants will compete to see who has the best wings around. The Wing Challenge will be judged by the Mayors of Clermont, Groveland, Mascotte and Montverde, City Council from Clermont and Minneola and Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders. An award will also be presented for the People's Choice.
The event will also include a variety of entertainment such as the Mobil 1 race team, bounce houses, a classic car show and music from the winners of the Karaoke Masters Contest.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties is hoping to establish a club in Clermont to serve youth in the South Lake County and the money raised at the challenge will go toward the funding for the club. Go online to www.bgclsc.org for more information about BGCLSC.
-- Recent support for FAITH Neighborhood Center has come from several organizations.
The Royal Highlands Women's Golf Association held a charity golf day to raise funds for the Center.
South Lake High School sponsored a Service-Learning Empty Bowl project for students and teachers from the following schools participated: Clermont Middle, Cypress Ridge Elementary, Minneola Charter, East Ridge Middle, East Ridge High and South Lake High.
The River Church sponsored a program of wonderful Gospel Singing by the Gloryland Quartet and the Singing Osbornes. A love offering was taken to support the Center.
FAITH Neighborhood Center provides support to low income families throughout south Lake County by providing food, clothing and financial support for rent, utilities and health care. In order to keep the Center in operation, we depend on the support of the community - businesses, churches, fraternal organizations, clubs and individuals. The Center wishes to thank all of the generous donors who support FAITH Neighborhood Center.
