Putting a smile on clients' faces

Dr. Ronald Achong of Oral Facial Surgical Arts of Clermont said dental implants are changing the lives of his patients everyday.

"You can have new teeth and a new smile in as little as one day," Achong said, adding that his training and the advanced technology available to him allows his patients to receive only the highest quality care and treatment available.

"It's hard to eat and taste things with a big chunk of plastic in your mouth, let alone worrying about it falling out or loosening up. I tell people, 'If you have loose dentures, you can kiss them goodbye,'" Achong said.

"When I get through, people tell me they are so happy to be able to eat and taste foods they used to enjoy many years ago."

At Oral Facial Surgical Arts, patients can receive treatment for various problems relating to the mouth and teeth with an emphasis on wisdom teeth removal, teeth extractions, jaw reconstruction, treatment of infections, facial trauma, pathology and non-invasive facial cosmetic procedures.

Other services include pathology, bone and gum grafting, crown lengthening, Botox® injections, Juvéderm® Cosmetics and snoring/sleep apnea.

The dental implants he can offer are unique to Achong's practice. While new to many other area practices, they are something he's been offering for many years.

Achong even has a CAT scan machine located in his office, which gives him X-ray vision of the jawbones. This way, he can place the dental implants in the most optimal position.

"Having the CAT scan available in our office adds convenience," Achong said.

Furthermore, he is a graduate of Harvard University's Dental School and of Louisiana State University's Medical School.

Achong has both a medical and dental license in the State of Florida and is board certified by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Achong has been practicing oral surgery for more than 10 years and sees patients in two convenient locations -- one in Clermont and one in Lake Nona.

According to Achong, however, perhaps his greatest achievement is being able to bring a newfound sense of self-esteem, energy and the ability to enjoy life and food to his patients.

"The implants look completely natural and feel like real teeth in the mouths of my patients," he said. "They are able to eat whatever and whenever they want, and feel more confident about smiling, laughing and enjoying life.

"Basically, they can live again, and to me that's very rewarding."

Achong urges patients who think they may be interested in dental implants to attend a free dental implant seminar at 5 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month in his office, located at the Lost Lake Professional Village, 3180 Citrus Tower Boulevard in Clermont.
