The new Cooper Memorial Library building is nearly complete. The name has been mounted on both sides of the building and all that is left to do is finish work on the inside and installing the books.
There are still naming opportunities available, such as naming the special collections room for a $15,000 donation; $1,000 buys a named leaf on the tree sculpture just inside the community entrance and for $50, an memory brick to be laid into the sidewalk can be engraved with a donor's special message.
The present Cooper Library on W. Montrose St. will close Monday, July 27 and remain closed until Saturday, Aug. 15 to allow for the move to the new building. Any books or other material due during that time frame can be returned via the book drop on the north side of the NEW building.
The new Cooper Memorial Library is not only the largest library in Lake County, it is also the first collaborative Public and Academic Library.
