Food trucks and Meet the Teacher event at ERHS

East Ridge High School is hosting "Knights Food Truck Rally" and "Meet the Knights" on Monday, 13322 Excalibur Road, where families can eat dinner before or after meeting their kids teachers.

The fun begins a 5 p.m. with the food trucks and continues to 8 p.m., with trucks from Darland Bakery, Kona Dog, Crooked Spoon, and Cara Bama BBQ, located in the gymnasium driveway.

"Meet the Knights" starts at 5:30 and continues to 7 p.m.

A portion of funds raised will go to the school, and the event is open to the public.

Garden Club to visit herb farm on Wednesday

On Wednesday the Groveland/Mas-cotte Garden Club will visit the Seminole Springs Herb Farm, well known for its herbs and antique roses. The visit also includes a tour of the farm and guests will be allowed to purchase as desired.

Interested parties will meet at Lake David Park in Groveland at 9 a.m. and carpool to the farm. Guests are welcome.

Elementary students jump to fight heart disease

Students at Groveland Elementary School are jumping at the chance to fight heart disease and stroke, on Tues., Oct. 2, 930 Parkwood Ave., as the school hosts its second annual "Jump Rope For Heart" event to raise money for the American Heart Association.

Jump Rope For Heart teaches students how physical fitness benefits the heart and shows them that volunteering can be a fun and positive experience for the whole community.
