Rosemary DeMott, owner of 'Not Just Dance!'
Name -- Rosemary DeMott; Hometown -- Staten Island, NY; Occupation -- owner of "Not Just Dance!" dance studio, W. Montrose St., Clermont; Family -- a great husband and business partner Jon and two wonderful boys Jonathan Jr., 18, and Jason, 14.
Q. What do you enjoy most about South Lake County?
A. I came from a small town like Clermont where everyone knows everyone, and I love that when I go to the grocery store it never fails that I see some little one that likes to say "Hi Miss Rosemary." It makes my day everytime.
Q. If you had to summarize your philosophy of life in one sentence, what would it be?
A. To summarize my philosophy of life in one sentence would be that "Life is a dance, from one stage to the next!"
Q. Name a person or incident you've come across recently that's touched you in some way.
A. Her name is Susan Rizzo Vincent and she is the founder of the foundation "Drea's Dream."
Q. Why did this person or incident impress you so much?
A. Drea's Dream brings dance therapists into children's cancer wards to let dance help them through their treatments. My studio, Not Just Dance, is doing a fundraiser with the foundation in late October.
Q. How does your business or occupation contribute to the welfare of the area?
A. Since our children are our future, being involved with the youth of this community along with their families allows me to give back to this great community.
Q. Name one of your greatest accomplishments so far?
A. One of my greatest accomplishments so far in my life, other than my own children, would be the annual Christmas parade. When our float comes down Montrose Street and all the family and friends are waving and beaming, it gives me chills to know we, as a school, have put this happiness together!!
Q. What's something you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet?
A. I would love to go to Italy.
Q. What advice would you give to someone just venturing out into the business world?
A. Be ready for ups and downs when you go into your own business; but remember the ups will be higher then you have ever been before. I love what I do and I am extremely lucky to get to do what I love!
