Open house at Fresenius Medical Care is Oct. 25
Nurses and staff will be available to discuss patient services and the latest dialysis treatment options at this open house for Fresenius Medical Care Clermont East Light at this ribbon cutting event, 3 to 6 p.m., Oct. 25.
Guests can get information on the home dialysis program that can offer patients greater independence, convenience and health benefits, the Treatment Options Program available to inform at-risk patients and their families about chronic kidney disease.
The event is open to the public and free of charge, at 17319 Pagonia Road, building P, unit 115, in Clermont.

Visit beautiful gardens at Clermont Garden Walk
This year's Garden Walk, presented by the Clermont Garden Club is Saturday with beautiful gardens featured in Clermont and Minneola.
Guests will need a car to travel to all of the gardens with the tour beginning at the Clermont Garden Club,
849 West Ave., near downtown Clermont, where guests can purchase tickets, look at the door prize items and buy plants grown by club members.
Hours for the walk are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 or buy two tickets for only $17.

Open house event slated for genealogical society
Pastfinders is hosting its 2nd annual Genealogy Open House 9 a.m. to
1 p.m., on Saturday at Cooper Memorial Library, room 108, to help guests learn how to discover the answers about their ancestors.
Presenters will help you begin exploring your heritage while they share their research skills and show you how to find the information you are seeking and experience the thrill of discovering your family history.
This educational and fun day will include door prizes, refreshments, discussions, and learning with our members and guest presenters who have volunteered their time and resources.

Clermont
Bridge replacement work to continue on interchange
Motorists need to be on the lookout as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) continues major bridge replacement work at the State Road (S.R.) 50 and U.S. Highway 27 interchange in Clermont.
Demolition of the old bridge and construction of the new bridge foundations is set to start on Sunday and continue through December.
Scheduled demolition/construction for both night and day work will be done in three phases: Bridge demolition to start 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday. Phase two, bridge foundations starts,
7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Nov. 1. Phase three, bridge foundations (S.R. 50 median) starts 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Nov. 18.
Anticipated completion in mid-December 2012.
Lane closures with detours will continue to be in place, with variable message signs that will guide travelers along the route.
