Pig on the Pond 'For the Kids' to be held today and Saturday

Pig on the Pond Inc. will host the 15th annual Pig on the Pond "For the Kids" Festival, today and Saturday, at the Waterfront Park in Clermont.
Tonight will feature a hot air balloon glow, Chili Challenge and live entertainment by Patrick Gibson.
Saturday morning begins with the "Rib Run for Education 5k Run/Walk", lead by the Pig (mascot) himself.
Guests can experience barbecue demonstrations and the all new "Battle at Barbecue Junction" where people can see barbecue teams compete on stage in an interactive format. "Kids Zone" will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fireworks will take place on Saturday night.
All weekend will include entertainment on two stages, midway carnival, arts and crafts, Kiss the Pig, photo booth and a boat show. There will be lots of food to choose from including BBQ from the cook teams in BBQ Alley. Attendees can be the judges with the People's Choice beginning at 5 p.m.
Parking is free and shuttle service is provided.
The entrance fee is $3 for adults and children.
"Come and enjoy the event knowing that you are helping raise money for scholarships and education in our community," event organizer Cheryl Fishel said.
The event is sponsored in part by Bright House Networks and Central Florida News 13, Clermont Chiropractic Life Center, the city of Clermont, the Daily Commercial and South Lake Press, GT Marine and Outdoors, Napleton-Clermont and Zmax Radio.
Pig on the Pond "For the Kids" raises monies for scholarship and educational programs in South Lake County.
Benefactors of the event are organizations such as: Kiwanis Clubs of Clermont, South Lake Jr. Woman's Club, South Lake Rotary Club, Frank B. Farr Scholarship Fund, East Ridge High School Band Boosters, and many more local charities.
