What do you enjoy most about South Lake County?
The friendly people, meeting people from all areas of the world, and the beauty of this part of Florida.
If you had to summarize your philosophy of life in one sentence, what would it be?
After you retire, it is time to thank God for all your many blessings and work hard to make this a better place to live, and to help others so they have a better life.
Name a person or incident you've come across recently that's touched you in some way. Why did this person or incident impress you so much?
I recently presided over a "thank you" luncheon for all the volunteers of the Historic Village in downtown Clermont. This group has made the Village such a wonderful place for adults to visit and for school children to witness how life was in 1890. The World War II museum is very special to me for I know how much the veterans alive today appreciate what we have done to recognize their service to our country.
How does what you do contribute to the welfare of the area?
Helping to start the "Food Providers" to feed the hungry and see it has grown into a county-wide program.
What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet?
Fly my own airplane everywhere.
What advice would you give to people who want to help out in the community?
Get involved in organizations that make life better for other people.
