There is no shortage of volunteers when it comes to watering the new plants and flowers that were planted recently at the entrance of the Boys and Girls Club South Lake Unit in Clermont.

"I wanted the front of the building to look nice because I come here every day," 11-year-old Kelvin Abreu said. "It looks awesome."

Abreu, a member of the Torch Club -- a leadership and community service based group sponsored by the Staples Foundation that is made up of children ages 11 to 13 -- had a hand in planting and landscaping the new garden area.

Bags of red mulch, dozens of plants, flowers and supplies were donated by parents and students. Some of the funds came from the Staples Foundation, and Target employees helped with the planting.

"This is part of our service to our club and to our community, so it's great, but we couldn't have done all this without the help of the Target team, so we're grateful," said Club/Unit Director Tracy Jones.
