CHS class of 1963 to be honored at reunion

The Clermont High School class of 1963 will be honored at this event, but all classes through 1985 are invited, as well as faculty members.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., April 27, at the First United Methodist Church Wesley Center.

Cost for the luncheon is $30.

Reservations must be purchased in advance to guarantee a seat with your class.

Tickets will also be available at the door.

Pictures of grads sought for historic Hooks School

As the dedication of the replica of the Hooks School House approaches, April 13, the Historical Society is requesting information about graduating classes from both Groveland High School and Clermont High School from the 1920s through the 1940s.

Graduation photos that could be copied and displayed in the school house would be greatly appreciated, and it is very important that the names of the students and teachers shown in the pictures be provided.

Kiwanis Club's chicken dinner event is Saturday

The Kiwanis Club of Clermont will host a fundraiser for benefiting club programs for the children of South Lake County, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, at the Jenkins Auditorium, 691 West Montrose St.

Tickets are $7.

'Pet Connect Carnival'

at Petco set for Saturday

Several local animal rescue organizations will be participating in this event showcasing their most adorable, adoptable four-legged companions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, in the Petco parking lot, at S.R. 50 and Hancock Road, in Clermont.

The Pet Connect Carnival family fun day will have entertainment, meet and greet sessions with adoptable dogs, exhibitions, pet contests, raffles, children's games, food and beverage vendors, and local businesses offering unique products and services for two-and four-legged family members.

Garden Club to host auction on April 3

At 9:30 a.m., on April 3 the Groveland/Mascotte Garden Club will meet at the Groveland Masonic Lodge for an auction featuring a large variety of items to be available including plants, pottery, tools, paintings, food, cookbooks and gardening related items.

In addition club members will offer information on tools, growing plants, pictures and other items.
