Clermont
Street closures continue in and around S.R. 50
Motorists need to be on the lookout as several road closures continue in and around S.R. 50 and U.S. Highway 27, in Clermont. The Florida Depart-ment of Transportation (FDOT) is widening S.R. 50 requiring the temporary closure of a number of side streets and access roads.
Variable Message Boards and detour signs are in place guiding drivers through the construction zone.
Current temporary closures with detours include:
K S.R. 50 entrance to the south service road is closed. Follow detour through Grand Highway.
K The S.R. 50 entrance to the U.S. Highway 27 south on-ramp is closed. Follow detour through Grand Highway.
K Bloxam Avenue north of S.R. 50 is closed. Follow detour signs to Hampton Street.
K Millholland Drive north of S.R.
50 is closed. Follow detour signs to Hampton Street.
When work is scheduled for the overnight hours between 8 p.m. and
6 a.m., additional intermittent single and multiple lane closures may occur. Detour signage will be posted for these closures.

Veterans book unveiling at the Cooper Library
Celebrate veterans at the Cooper Memorial Library with the unveiling of the Veterans of South Lake County Florida Collection of Memoirs, Volume III.
The book features items from World War II about the veterans of Clermont, Minneola, Groveland, Mascotte, and Montverde.
This event will be held from10 a.m. to noon, today, in room 108, at the library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Dr. in Clermont.
The public is invited to the event and veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms, and bring any memorabilia they would like to share.

Christmas items available at Angels of Mercy
There's no reason to spend a lot to decorate your home this holiday season when you can shop local and shop thrift stores. Angels of Mercy, 1330 Millholland Dr., has holiday items on display and ready to sell, offering new sets of lights, bows, ornaments, mugs, new gift items, Christmas china and more, open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Proceeds from the sales at Angels of Mercy help run the emergency food pantry on the premises and serves nearly 1000 people each month.

Special holiday program to be presented Monday
Enjoy a presentation of the beloved Nutcracker ballet set to the music of Peter Tchaikovsky, with ballet superstars Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gelsey Kirkland from 1:45 to 5 p.m. in room108 B at the Cooper Memorial Library in Clermont.
