Downtown Partnership hosts food truck night
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., today, guests can sample culinary delights from food trucks, including Kona Dog, Matt Daddy's BBQ, Monsta Lobsta and others in downtown Clermont on Minneola Avenue.
Free parking is available in the city lots off Montrose Street, behind City Hall and throughout the downtown area. Shops and restaurants will be open through the event.
Many of the trucks do not accept credit cards, cash is recommended.
Lawn chairs are recommended as seating is limited at the event.

Church to celebrate Black History Month on Sundays
February is Black History Month promoting social justice and equality and the Windermere Union Church, 10710 Park Ridge-Gotha Road in Windermere, will celebrate the meaning of the month-long event every Sunday in February during the
10 a.m. worship service.
The Rev. Barton Buchanan, senior pastor will bring a series of sermons focusing on great African-American people in history. Music director Kevin Harris will include many African-American classic spiritual hymns and gospel music into the services.

Relay For Life to host barbecue and car show
Uncle Kenny's Barbecue and Raymond James Financial Center in Clermont have teamed up to support the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life with a barbecue and car cruise in at Uncle Kenny's Barbecue in the Citrus Tower parking lot from
5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
In addition to classic cars, great music, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle, there will be specialty vendors with items ranging from handcrafted jewelry to homemade pepper sauce.

Open registration for the 2013 spring cheer season has started for the Clermont Knights Pop Warner cheerleading program, ages 6 to 15, new and experienced cheerleaders are welcome.

Learn the basics of landscaping on Saturday
The Lake Beautyberry Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society invites residents to stimulate their creativity while learning the basic principles of landscape design at this IFAS Lake County Agriculture Center presentation at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Dr., in Clermont.
A variety of native plants suitable for home landscapes and available from local nurseries will be displayed.
This program is free and open to the public and older children are welcome.

Athletic boosters to host meeting on Wednesday
East Ridge Athletic Boosters Inc. will hold their next meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the lunchroom at East Ridge High School.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in the organization, plan to attend all meetings 90 days prior to the May election, as required by the current bylaws.
