New Beginnings, in partnership with Head Quarter Honda of Clermont, will attempt to 'Drive Away Hunger' from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the
dealership, located at 17700 Highway 50, Clermont.
The idea, New Beginnings' Sandy Farnsworth said is for people to visit the Honda dealership for a simple 10-minute test drive, "no strings attached."
"This will be a good event because who doesn't enjoy test driving a brand new Honda. It's fun, there's no commitment to purchase and for every car people try, we get money for homeless and needy families in our community,"
Farnsworth said. "People can also bring food donations for our pantry."
"Our shelves are really, really low because although a lot of people come out an do donations around Thanksgiving and Christmas, not so many come out
the rest of the year," Farnsworth said. "They would be grateful for any canned goods or non perishable food donations because ?donations dwindle down, but the needs don't."
At the event people will also be treated to a free car wash with any test drive, kid's activities, music, refreshments and Eco-tours of Honda's award winning green building.
Students of Montverde Academy who belong to the Kiwanis club at the school will be manning the car washes.
"It's just a few minutes of your time, it's fun for the whole family and it's for an incredibly important cause so come down and help," Farnsworth said.
