Friends of the library host annual winter book sale
Friends of Cooper Memorial Library will host the annual winter book sale with used books, CDs, and DVDs, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Saturday in room 108, at the Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Dr.
Proceeds from the sale support library programs and will help in the purchase of supplies for the library.
Donated items can be brought to the library during regular hours.
No magazines.

Annual charity event set for Cornerstone Hospice
The Green Valley Women's Golf Association is hosting the annual charity event for Cornerstone Hospice of Lake and Sumter County at Green Valley Country Club in Clermont.
The tournament will be begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 23 in a four-person scramble format for both men and women.
Cost is $60 and includes golf, cart, coffee and donuts, lunch, prizes and a $15 donation to Hospice.
Deadline for entry is today.

South Lake Green Festival scheduled for Saturday
The Cooper Memorial Library, Lake-Sumter State College and the University of Central Florida invite one and all to the South Lake Green Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Cooper Memorial Library, South Lake Campus of Lake-Sumter State College, 2525 Oakley Seaver Dr., in Clermont.
Through the generosity of the Edmond Amateis Foundation, this event is free of charge and will include free entertainment and 25 exhibit booths.

'A Taste for the Arts' ArtWalk set for Saturday
The Clermont Downtown Partnership will host the inaugural ArtWalk in downtown Clermont on Saturday.
Tickets are limited and may be purchased in advance from participating Downtown Clermont merchants for $15.

Play to remember first permanent black residents
The South Lake community's first permanent black residents will be remembered in the original play, "Sallie and James," at 2 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, with the Rev. Van Green and his wife, Sheila Green of St. Mark's A.M.E. Church portraying the couple, at Clermont's Historic Village, 490 West Ave.
This event is free and open to the public.
The Saturday performance will be preceded by a barbecue chicken lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Spring Bling Fashion Show is set for Saturday
