What do you enjoy most about South Lake County?
I enjoy the hills the most, and coming from a loud and busy city, I truly enjoy the quietness and peacefulness.
If you had to summarize your philosophy of life in one sentence, what would it be?
Hardship often prepares an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.
Name a person or incident you've come across recently that's touched you in some way. Why did this person or incident impress you so much?
My brother. He recently had to undergo surgery and took longer then expected to recover. Because of this, he was fired. He is married with three children and is the only source of income. Through this time of hardship he has remained positive and has kept speaking faith. Until this day he has not given up. He still strives to succeed and be a provider for his family.
How does what you do contribute to the welfare of the area?
In November my husband and I volunteered at our church (Cathedral of Power), which gave away 400 turkeys and fed the homeless Thanksgiving dinner. We also provided toys for 106 children at Southlake Headstart for Christmas.
Name one of your greatest accomplishments so far.
Helping someone less fortunate then myself and leading a good life
What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet?
I've always wanted to travel outside of the country, trying new foods and seeing different cultures.
What advice would you give to people who want to help out in the community?
Get involved! There are many events always going on in South Lake. Search on the web, ask your church how you can help, write a letter to local elected officials encouraging them for making good decisions for the community.
