ERA Grizzard Real Estate has expanded into Clermont with the acquisition of Clermont’s ERA Professional Real Estate Services, according to broker and owner Gus Grizzard.
Grizzard said the deal was finished Friday and became effective Sunday.
He said it is a strategic acquisition in a market where they have been trying to establish roots and market share for about five years.
“I have always, always wanted to have a presence in Clermont — only because I’m very familiar with the community,” Grizzard said. “This is a strategic acquisition to allow us to enter a market that we have been trying to enter for years.”
He described the Clermont market as very dense, growing, vibrant and thriving.
The Clermont location will be the company’s fourth sales office, in addition to a property management office.
“With offices in The Villages, Leesburg, Tavares and Mount Dora, this is a completion of our geographic equation,” Grizzard said.
The location has 20 full-time agents and two full-time support staff employees, according to Grizzard. ERA Grizzard Real Estate has 150 agents and staff company-wide.
Grizzard said they are analyzing the Clermont location.
“We’re completely in a needs-analysis mode right now and introducing this team of agents and staff to our systems and procedures, at this point,” Grizzard said.
The Clermont acquisition comes after ERA Grizzard Real Estate had a recent event featuring the unveiling of a new name and logo. The former name was ERA Tom Grizzard Realtors.
Gus Grizzard said recently that real estate customers are evolving, and the new name and logo are visual cues to the public that the company is evolving as well.
Melody Bohrer, the senior vice president of broker services and operations for ERA Franchise Systems, said ERA Grizzard was the first office to launch the new ERA logo, which was announced in March.
“It’s a very special day for us as a brand, as well as for ERA Grizzard,” Bohrer said.
ERA Grizzard Real Estate also plans to relocate its office in The Villages from Suite 200 at 13710 U.S. Highway 441 to 804 County Road 466, according to Grizzard. He hopes to have the new location open by Aug. 1.
He said they want to have a more visible location in The Villages, and he considers C.R. 466 to be the major commercial corridor.
The current location in The Villages is 3,000 square feet and the new one will be 4,300 square feet, Grizzard said, adding that the new location will be designed with the customer in mind.
