CLERMONT -- Funeral services will be held Thursday for a 3-year-old girl and her grandmother who were killed when another driver veered into their lane of traffic Sunday.

The Celebration of Life services for Fallon Kay Painter and 56-year-old Debbie Kay Irwin is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 950 Seventh St. in Clermont, according to the funeral home's website.

Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

The crash occurred about 3:40 p.m. Sunday, just north of Clermont.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Irwin, of Montverde, was driving east on High Crest Court and stopped at County Road 455. A Jaguar driven by 22-year-old James Walker was traveling north on 455 when, for unknown reasons, Walker crossed over the southbound lanes and plowed into Irwin's Infiniti.

Irwin was an aide in the Lower School at Montverde Academy. A colleague, Kalena Meyers, described the staff and Irwin's friends as "heartbroken" on a Facebook post.

"Debbie's life revolved around her daughter Ryan and granddaughter Fallon," Meyers wrote.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking people to consider a memorial contribution to the Animal League (formerly South Lake Animal League), P.O .Box 121504, Clermont, Florida 34712 because Fallon loved animals.

Contributions also can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 (donors@stjude.org).
