US Naval Sea Cadet Corps seeking donations

FRUITLAND PARK — The Thomas R. Norris Battalion of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is seeking donations for uniforms and other essentials.

The federally funded organization is comprised of kids from age 10 through high school seniors. The program provides training in SCUBA, field and medical training, photojournalism, military police, science and sailing.

“When youth join our group, we are training them to be leaders not only in a group of their peers, but this training will inspire them to become leaders in the schools and communities," Commanding Officer Rob Robbins said. "We need to keep our youth focused on becoming strong leaders and not followers.”

Donations are tex deductible, and can be mailed to Thomas R. Norris Battalion, C/O American Legion Post 219, P.O. Box 1, Fruitland Park, Florida 34731.
