The Budweiser Clydesdales make their first appearance in Leesburg Thursday, leaving from Towne Square for a procession down Main Street. Come out and watch them get ready and get up close and personal.

Friday events include a Hometown Christmas in Fruitland Park and Movie in the Park in Eustis.

Saturday kicks into high gear with a Santa Meet and Greet in Cagan's Crossing in Clermont, the Howey-in-the-Hills Christmas Festival and Boat Parade, Christmas in the Park with Snow in Mount Dora, the 41st Annual Cracker Christmas Parade and Festival in Umatilla, the 25th Annual Christmas Parade and Light Up Groveland and Home for the Holidays concert at Lake-Sumter State College in Leesburg.

If that isn't sweet enough, visit the annual Wine and Chocolate Festival at Lakeridge Winery in Clermont on Saturday and Sunday.

Budweiser Clydesdales

The Budweiser Clydesdales will hoof it down Main Street in Historic Downtown Leesburg from 6 to 8 p.m. today from Towne Square, 501 W. Main St. The red, white and gold turn-of-the-century restored beer wagon, handlers, drivers, a team of 10 horses and the Dalmatian that travels with the hitch arrive at 6 p.m. to unload. Then the hitching process begins for the 7:30 p.m. procession down Main Street between Ninth and Canal streets, led by Leesburg's antique fire truck.

Hot dogs, soft drinks and popcorn are $1 each to benefit the Leesburg High School Band's 2017 President's Cup trip to Washington, D.C. Also, $1 Budweiser beer is available for those age 21 and older while supplies last. The Leesburg High School Jazz Band will perform holiday music between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Hometown Christmas

Fruitland Park hosts Hometown Christmas from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday at Fruitland Park City Hall, 506 W. Berckman St. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there along with free hot dogs and drinks, a bonfire and vendors.

Movie in the Park

See "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" 7 p.m. Friday at Ferran Park on the Band Shell stage in Eustis. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for this free event.

Santa Meet and Greet

Meet Santa, take photos, have a snack and make a craft at the Santa Meet and Greet 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Cagan Crossings Community Library, 16729 Cagan Oaks in Clermont. Free. Friends of the Library will also have a book sale.

Howey Christmas Festival and Boat Parade

Start out the Howey-in-the-Hills Christmas Festival with the third annual Lighted Boat Parade on Little Lake Harris with a line up at 5:30 p.m. and an ugly Christmas Sweater contest at Griffin Park 5 to 6 p.m. Friday. Saturday begins with a Howey Men's Club pancake breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the Reindeer Dash 5k at 9 a.m., a doggie costume contest at 10 a.m. and parade at 3 p.m. There will also be a craft show, cookie contest, coffee truck and food trucks. Christmas in the Park with Snow

Bring the kids to Children's Christmas in the Park with Snow. Sledding, Santa, food games and fun from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Donnelly Park, 5th Avenue and Donnelly Street in Mount Dora.

41st Annual Cracker Christmas Parade and Festival

Umatilla will host its 41st annual Cracker Christmas Parade and Festival 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cadwell Park, 3 Cassady St. in Umatilla. Free. A Dog Jog begins at 9 a.m. and the parade, Santa's Toy Shop, begins at 9:30 a.m. The festival features art, crafts, food, children activities and the “Merry Mistletoe Show.” Details:

25th Annual Christmas Parade and Light Up Groveland

Groveland hosts its 25th annual Christmas Parade and Light Up Groveland Saturday. The parade starts at 4 p.m. at N. Illinois Ave. and East Orange Street before turning lift on State Road 50 in downtown Groveland with floats, bands and Santa Claus. Light Up Groveland begins at 6 p.m. at the Gazebo next to the Christmas tree in Lake David Park, 243 S. Home for the Holidays features the American Big Band at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake-Sumter State College's Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Auditorium, 9501 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg. Cost is $27.

Annual Wine and Chocolate Festival

Wine and Chocolate are the theme at Lakeridge Winery in Clermont from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event includes festive music, arts and crafts vendors, food and beverage vendors, wines and beer. No pets. Details at
