ORLANDO — Orlando International Airport officials are expecting almost 3 million travelers to pass through during the holiday season.

Airport officials said last week that the official holiday travel period started Friday and goes through the first week of the new year.

They say it's expected to be the busiest holiday season ever for the airport.

The airport is expecting Dec. 28 to be the busiest day of the holiday season with a predicted 142,000 passengers coming and going.
