Lake County sheriff’s officials are trying to identify a suspect they believe attacked a sleeping 14-year-old girl in her home last week.
According to Sgt. James Vachon, sheriff’s spokesman, the girl was on her couch at her Morning Star Drive home about 3 a.m. Saturday, when an unidentified man came into the residence, strangled her and then punched her in the face.
Vachon added the suspect then escaped through a sliding glass door.
The victim sustained minor injuries to her neck and nose but did not need to go to the hospital.
No motive has been released.
The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing 230 pounds, and between the ages of 25 and 30. He was wearing a black shirt, tan pants, a silver watch, rectangular-shaped silver glasses and square diamond stud earrings.
Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect.
