A 43-year-old Mascotte man was killed Tuesday morning after his tractor-trailer hauling fertilizer overturned off the Florida Turnpike in Orange County.

Chad Stewart, 43, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 5:25 a.m. as Stewart’s 1971 truck was traveling south on State Road 429, also known as the Daniel Webster Western Beltway or Western Expressway, and was heading onto the eastbound ramp of the turnpike.

FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said for unknown reasons, Stewart lost control of the vehicle and it overturned onto a guardrail, spilling fertilizer onto the road. He died at the scene.

The crash remains under

investigation.
