The body of Lady Lake plastic surgeon Todd Ginestra, reported missing Wednesday morning, has been recovered from the water off of Fort Island Gulf Beach in Citrus County, the sheriff’s office reports.
“Foul play is not suspected and the final cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office,” the sheriff’s office reported on its Facebook page.
It’s not clear what Ginestra was doing in Citrus County, but it was reported he was last seen wearing white swim trunks, a dry-fit shirt and sandals. His vehicle was found nearby, the sheriff’s office reports.
Fort Island Gulf Beach in Crystal River is popular for swimming and pier fishing. There is also a boat ramp and dock there.
Marine units, a dive team and an aviation unit took part in the search.
Ginestra, 48, did most of his plastic surgery procedures at the Mesos Cosmetic Surgery Center and Laser Center at 757 County Road 466. He also had an office at 255 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 207, in Clermont.
He received his medical degree in 1992 from the University of Illinois and was initially licensed by the State of Florida in 2011.
